My name is Anna Passe. I am the MS/HS CARDS teacher through SMEC and work with the students in the Le Roy building. I am so excited to become part of the Cardinal community!
Education:
I completed my undergrad at Winona State University with a degree in Special Education teaching in Specific Learning Disabilities and Developmental Delay. I then completed my graduate degree through Mankato University, where I obtained my degree in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I have a certificate in Work Based Learning Coordinator as well.
Teaching Journey:
This is year 10 of teaching for me! I have worked in Special Education since the start. I spent 6 years at Hayfield Secondary where I taught 9-12 resource room for a year, then spent the last 5 there as the setting 3 ASD/DCD teacher for grades 7-12. While in Hayfield, I helped start their coffee cart business as well as starting their Adaptive Bowling team through the ZED co-op. I had bowlers attend state every year and every year leaving with a medal. After Hayfield, I spent a year at a non-profit working with families navigating the special education process. The last 2 school years, I spent in Rochester as a special education coach supporting and mentoring new teachers as well as supporting within the classroom.
Background:
I grew up in Rochester, MN with my parents and 2 siblings. After teaching in Hayfield for a year, I relocated to Blooming Prairie where I still reside. I currently have a very spoiled German Shepard mix, Boone and 2 sibling cats, Mickey and Minnie. I also have a handful of fish. I enjoy spending time with friends and family, doing anything outdoors, or anything creative.
Philosophy:
I believe that all students can learn, it is discovering the how behind the process in order for them to reach their goals. I believe that everyone deserve a clean state each and every day! I believe that hands on learning and making learning fun helps support the development of the skills.
