Daycare Center Facilities Statement
On Tuesday night March 15, the school board reviewed survey results from the daycare survey that went out a few weeks earlier to parents who have children from birth to 5th grade. The survey results showed a need for a daycare center at the school. The reason for sending out this survey comes from community concerns revolving around current daycare spaces available in the community. The school board decided to move forward with a facilities process that will be conducted by the company UNESCO over the next 3-4 months to determine cost, space availability and programming needs. A final decision to move forward with a project will be made at the June or July board meeting. If there is not enough space available in the current building, the earliest a program would start for usage would be in August of 2017. Discussions concerning the daycare center will be held at school board meetings in April, May, June, and July plus a couple of special meetings that have not been scheduled yet. Information, when made available, will be posted on the district website as this process continues.
