The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT)  Measures what you're learning in school, determines if you're on track, and opens doors for opportunities to prepare and pay for college. Offered to Juniors at a cost of $18 given each year in October.

The SAT School Day Test provides schools, districts, and states a way to offer the SAT to juniors and seniors in school, on a weekday, expanding access to a globally recognized college admission test that's widely accepted at U.S. colleges. Offered every year to Seniors in October.

provides a tool to help colleges assess student readiness for introductory credit-bearing courses and make reliable placement decisions when placing them in PSEO courses while in high school.

Mandatory Notice to Parents for Testing Options

The new legislation, which amended M.S. 120B.31, Subd. 4a requires school districts to provide notice to parents or guardians of their option to refuse to have their students take the statewide assessments. The Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) was tasked by the Legislature with developing a form for this opt-out.

School districts must provide this notice by posting the form developed by MDE on their website and must include it in their Student Handbooks.

The form can be downloaded by clicking on the links below:
