High School ELA

Welcome!

Please allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Chrissy Schumann.  I am the high school ELA teacher at LeRoy-Ostrander Public School.  I have lived in the area my entire life.  I graduated from Grand Meadow Public School in 1996.  I attended Winona State University and graduated with my BS in Elementary Education in 2000. The 2024-2025 school year will be my ninth year teaching in LeRoy!  I am also one of the student council advisors, Spelling Bee Coordinator, 10th grade class advisor, and LOEA President.  One of my favorite things during the school year is dress-up days!  I am proud to teach in L-O because of the great staff and students.  I love being able to teach and raise my children in                                   a small-town environment.

My husband, Gabe, and I live outside of Racine, MN with our four children, Dane (20), Halen (19), Holly (16), and Hudson (9).  We also have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and Franklin the tortoise.  My favorite pastime is sitting down with a good book or sleeping. I also like to shop, and eat out at different restaurants.  I love air-conditioning and blankets, Diet Cherry Pepsi and chocolate is a guilty pleasure.  I also work at Four Daughters Vineyard and Winery several nights a week and I am secretary at my church, Bear Creek Lutheran.

I am excited to try and guide my students into the life-long hobby of reading.
